The ICTA, in collaboration with LankaPay and Sri Lanka Police, successfully conducted Phase 1 training of the GovPay Online Traffic Fine Payment System for the Western Province and Highway Police Divisions. Covering 158 police stations and over 300 officers, the session marked a key milestone in enabling real-time, cashless traffic fine payments ahead of a nationwide rollout.

As part of Sri Lanka’s journey toward digital governance and citizen-friendly services, the Information Communication Technology Agency (ICTA), in collaboration with LankaPay and the Sri Lanka Police, successfully conducted Phase 1 training of the GovPay Online Traffic Fine Payment System for the Western Province and Highway Police Divisions.

Held recently, this first rollout training session brought together over 300 Traffic OICs and officers from the Western Province and Highway Police Divisions, covering 158 police stations (127 in Western Province and 31 in the Highway Division). The session marked a major step toward the nationwide implementation of a modern, transparent, and convenient digital payment process for traffic fines.
